Ken holds the position of Energy Technology Advisor at IFF in Houston responsible for business development, technology transfer, and shaping the innovation pipeline and strategy for global oil and gas applications.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology from Tulane University in New Orleans

• Post-Doc on hydrocarbon bioremediation of the Exxon Valdez spill

 

Experience:

• 15 years in the industry including positions at Baker Hughes, BP and Dow

• Extensive experience in development and field application of biocides, corrosion inhibitors & sulfide scavengers

• Global Subject Matter Expert in oilfield microbiology, bioinformatics, reservoir souring, microbially influenced corrosion (MIC) and biofouling

 

Professional Activities:

• Author of over 50 publications & patents including a new book on Microbial Bioinformatics in the Oil & Gas Industry 

• SPE Instructor for Microbial Control in Oil and Gas Applications

• Chair of:

  • SPE/NACE Deepwater Field Life Corrosion Prevention, Detection, Control & Remediation

  • Energy Institute & Reservoir Microbiology Forum (RMF)

  • International Symposium on Applied Microbiology & Molecular Biology in Oil Systems (ISMOS)
